PvP gearing guide in Dragonflight season 3

Introduction

PvP (Player versus Player) in World of Warcraft is an exciting aspect of the game where players can fight each other, showing off their strength, skills, and tactics. In PvP, every decision and every step matters, making every fight unique and exciting.

Types of PvP gear

Warmode PvP gear

This is equipment that you can use in all PvP activities in the open world and also in Arena and Battlegrounds. If you buy a full set of items, you can unlock three bonuses:

• 2 pieces: Versatility increased by 105.
• 4 pieces: When you are stunned, harden your resolve, absorbing up to [10635 * (1 + Versatility)] damage for 10 sec. Cannot occur more than once every 2 min.
• 6 pieces: Killing enemy players grants Breaker’s Frenzy, increasing versatility by 2% and movement speed by 2%. Can stack up to 10 times.

The downside of this gear is that the bonuses it gives the player do not work in arenas and Battlegrounds, but it can provide an opportunity to get currency for more important types of gear. In the game, it has two qualities: blue quality(473 PvP ilvl) and epic quality(486 PvP ilvl).

How to get PvP Warmode items.

You can buy blue quality items from a special vendor called Malicia. The currency used for purchases is called bloody tokens. For buying purple quality items you need to use Trophy of Strife.

You can receive bloody tokens in one of the following ways:

• Reward for War Mode World Quests (twice a day) – 50 bloody tokens for the quest.
• War Supply Chest – 200 pcs. for the first one during the day and 50 pcs. for all subsequent
• Victory over the “Headhunt” target – 200 pcs. for the first one during the day and 50 pcs. for every next.
• Victory over players of the opposite faction – 1 pc.
• Against Overwhelming Odds quest War mode (once a week) – 250 pcs.

Trophy of Strife you can only get in Sparks of Life quests, where you need to collect a certain amount of sparks at different locations. You can receive sparks of life for victories over enemy players, from War Supply Chest, and as a reward for local PvP quests.

 Honor Gear

This equipment is used in unranked PvP mode and is purchased for honor points. It has a PvP level of 476 and a normal item level of 415 in the third season of Dragonflight. Items can be upgraded 5 times. A special feature of Honor Gear items is that their PvP level in the new season is higher than the level of items from the Conquest Gear of the previous season, so these items are a good start for beginners in the new PvP season. This equipment can be purchased from a Seltherex vendor located in Gladiator’s Refuge in Valdrakken with Calderax.

Gear for Conquest points

This equipment is used in rating mode and allows you to take your rightful place on the leaderboard. It has a PvP level of 489 and also starts at a PvE level of 454. 

Honor and Conquest points: their features and how to get them.

You can get Honor and Conquest points by participating in PvP activities such as Arenas, Battlegrounds, Battleground Blitz and War Mode PvP. We can conclude that all PvP activities simultaneously reward bloody tokens, honor points and conquest points. The only difference is that conquest points are also given for playing in the rating mode. Honor points, in addition to purchasing items, also provide the opportunity to receive a weekly reward in the Great Vault. If you earn 5000 honor points in a week, you will be able to choose one of three valuable PvP items. It is important to say that from the beginning of the season the Conquest cap is 1300 points and increases every week by 550. The Honor cap has no such restrictions and is always 15000 points.

Crafted Gear

Crafted gear is equipment that players can create themselves. You don’t necessarily have to learn the crafting profession to do this. You can buy it at the Auction House, or  order crafting from other players, but for this, you need enchanted crests and sparks of the dream. Sparks of the dream can be created by combining 2 Splintered Sparks of Dreams and 250 flightstones. Splintered Spark can be dropped from raid bosses and can also be purchased from vendors in Valdrakken.

There are three types of enchanted crests in the game, and the level of your PvE equipment depends on each of them:

• Enchanted Whelpling’s Dreaming Crest: helps craft equipment of rare quality (434-437)
• Enchanted Wyrm`s Dreaming Crest: used in crafting epic items (463-476)
• Enchanted Aspect’s Dreaming Crest: also used in crafting high-level epic items (473-486)

To create enchanted crests you need to find their recipes. Recipes have a high chance of being dropped from open-world activities.

Crafted PvE items in. PvP

Crafted items are initially used to complete PvE content, but you can convert them into PvP. Honor Conquest vendors sell special reagents that can be inserted into special slots:

• Verdant Crests of Honor: Sold by the Honor vendor. Lesser, Greater, and ordinary Verdant Crests of Honor increase your item level to 476 on the Battlegrounds and Arenas. Each of them converts certain parts of the body,  so look carefully which item you need to convert.
• Verdant Trophies of Conquest: sold in the Conquest vendor and also have three types: Lesser Greater and Ordinary. Each of them increases the PvP level of equipment to level 489. Each trophy type improves certain parts of the body.

Improvement of all PvP gears

In Dragonflight Season 3, PvP equipment has been included in the item upgrade system and players can now increase their PvE level using Flightstones and corresponding Dream Crests (PvP level does not change). All PvP gear can be upgraded at Corxian in Valdrakken. NPC can be found near the Elite Conquest Quartermaster. You can also upgrade items in Forbidden Reach, Zaralek Cavern, and the Emerald Dream’s Central Encampment.

Crests

Crests are one of the currencies that, as in other seasons, will be used to level up items. There are 4 types in total: Whelpling’s Dreaming Crest, Drake’s Dreaming Crest, Wyrm’s Dreaming Crest and Aspect’s Dreaming Crest. The third season made some changes in Crest’s mechanics. Previously, players received crest’s fragments and combined them into a whole item, but this was uncomfortable, because the fragments and crests took up 8 inventory slots. Starting from Season 3, players will only receive whole items Receiving and spending of currency will remain the same, but instead of 15 fragments (a total of 1 crest), players will need to collect 15 crests per upgrade, and the amount obtained in all forms of content will be proportionally increased.

How to get crests:

• Completing raid bosses on  different difficulties
• Mythic+ Dungeons
• World quests, Treasures, and other activities in Emerald Dream
•  Buying Gleaming Satchels in Vendors.

An important feature was the ability to convert crest into higher-tier crest in a 6:1 ratio. This will make all types of crests useful at any stage of the game.

Flightstones.

This is another currency that is used to upgrade equipment. You can get it for almost all PvP and PvE activities in the game, the main ones are completing events in open zones like the Emerald Dream or Zaralek Caverns, completing Mythic+ dungeons and killing raid bosses. This currency has no restrictions on how much you can receive it per week, but you can not carry more than 2000 units at a time.
